Can I paint IKEA Sodersvik lights?

I really like the sodersvik lights: www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/lighting/bathroom-lighting/s%C3%B6dersvik-led-ceiling-lamp-art-50248065/ But they're in chrome and I'm thinking of having a navy and copper scheme for my smaller-than-a-postage-stamp wc. Do you think I could spray-paint the chrome a copper colour? Would it be
a) safe?
b) not naff?

Also, I'm not sure if it's allowed, but does anyone know any good UK diy/home decor forums?

You can only paint ceramic light shades for safety reasons.
If I was you, I'd look on the internet for something different in the colour you're looking for.
