Can I just glitter grout over old grout?

Council property. Would like to jazz up the kitchen without major work - have noticed glitter grout in the stores. Anyone used it?

Could I just go over the top of what's there? Or I need to gouge out all the old stuff?

Wow I've just looked up glitter grout! But you do need to completely remove grout first with a special tool. It's a messy and time consuming job ime and easier to just retile.

Maybe I can just find a glitter pen and have a go lol

Well I'd suggest that it can't need cleaning and reviving the same as white - I mean white gets dirty right?
