Vinyl flooring 5m wide?

We will be having the kitchen done this year and it is open plan to dining area. The dining are is just short of 5m wide, does anyone know if it's possibly to get vinyl to cover the whole area? At the minute the dining area is carpeted which I hate. I looked at luxury vinyl tiles but given the whole area to do is about 30m2 it's going to be out of budget. TIA

I'd go for laminate flooring if I was you. Vinyl to me is out of date. Plus, don't think that you can get it that wide. You would need it in sections, which, unless it's joined properly, won't last.

I think LVT are lovely - have seen many of my friends' homes with Karndean or similar.

Have you tried pricing up any of these brands?

I've only been able to find vinyl 4 meters wide.
You could try vinyl tiles

I didn't really want laminate in the kitchen because of the water and problems if there are leaks etc. I've priced up the cost of lvt but think that the fitting costs will be too high, only have about £1000 in the budget for the floor.

What about a cheaper type of Amtico/Karndean? They are so real looking now!

Sorry, I posted too soon. Meant to say that having wood-effect vinyl 'tiles' might be your solution. You can have them laid in many different patterns too!

Hoppinggreen · 07/02/2017 09:25

Try something like Rhinofloor.
It's like Amtico but a lot cheaper.
If you can find a decent floor fitter and give them your budget they should be able to make suggestions

Can you turn it 90 degrees?

So the width is the length iyswim

YorkshireTea86 · 07/02/2017 12:20

No its 6m x 4.75m so wouldn't work either way unfortunately.

Vinyl sheet is 20m x 2m so you will have a couple of seams / join in there somewhere

ShortLass · 07/02/2017 16:53

You could get vinyl tiles. Some look like wood, some look like tiles.

eg, www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/brands/karndean.aspx
