Removal of two conservatories

Hi,

We're looking to potentially put an offer on a 1930s detached house that needs lots of work. We've just done a 'project' house so have a rough guesstimate of most of the work but this house has two conservatories (one fairly large, one tiny 'sun room'). Any ideas how much that would cost to remove them?

I've been trying to get a builder to come round with us but they don't want to as obviously they think it's not likely to come to any paid work.

Thanks

One idea is to advertise the conservatory frame on gumtree or similar for free so long as whoever wants it dismantles it and takes it away. Obviously you still have to get rid of the walls and floor but at least some of it gets removed and reused.

We hired a skip and knocked our wooden framed one down ourselves. It was great fun! Obviously we adhered to safety requirements and although we thought it was falling down, it took a lot of effort to demolish.

The main thing will be removing the concrete bases! As others have said if the conservatories are decent you can freecycle or sell them. If you're doing it as part of a bigger project where they'll be digging foundations and have a skip anyway, I can't imagine they'd add more than 500 for that??

They're pretty dilapidated so can't imagine anyone wanting them (although always surprised what people want and can fix up!)

Thanks, was just checking we weren't missing anything major!

It is just the glass really that needs care. The builders demolished ours but we built over where it was so did not dig out concrete.
