We're looking for a wooden stable door going into the garden from a snug room. Is there much difference between softwood and hardwood doors? So much conflicting advice online, some say softwood warps, others say it doesn't if you treat it.

We have yet to find a hardwood we like that's not got a 4 digit price tag, but have found a softwood door that ticks the boxes.

Any opinions, expertise, experience very much welcome.

You would be better off with hardwood.
Personally, I wouldn't go for a stable door though. They can be very drafty.

We live in a period property and all windows and doors are wooden so definitely needs to be wood of some sort which I assume is drafty anyway compared to modern materials.
It's a very dark room with no other windows so would need the window in the door to be pretty decent size.
I was interested in a stable door so in nicer weather we can have the top half open to get air into the room without having the full door open and can get air to the room without the small kids being able to run out.
Something like this: www.gshaydon.co.uk/doors/stable-doors

Well, with that in mind, go for a hardwood door.
The ones in your link do look nice.

Have you tried Doorsworld or Downing Street doors?

I've not heard of either, thank you, I'll take a look.
