We had howdens black mirror chip in our old house, we couldn't afford granite so went for laminate and this was pretty good.

I've seen them in Wickes

Humphriescushion · 04/02/2017 12:05

I would like some as well. Anyone has quartz? And how sparkly are they, can see on the internet.

ijustwannadance · 04/02/2017 16:15

B&Q and homebase both sell them.

wowfudge · 04/02/2017 17:33

Look at a composite called Mistral too OP.

I've seen black quartz with silver mirror pieces in it on display at Home base (I wouldn't buy from there - local.stonemason was far better for us). This quartz is seriously sparkly - better with a plain kitchen (night club sparkly)

We have a lovely composite from Wren. It's black and glittery Grin

Molly333 · 04/02/2017 21:38

Mapless- what do you mean stonemason ? ☺

I have sparkly quartz, white with grey and mirror flecks. It's is gorgeous, and very easy to keep clean, doesn't show any crumbs, or smears when it's wiped.

Molly333 · 05/02/2017 08:50

Where did you buy it zero baby?

We had black sparkle quartz in our old house and it was amazing. I absolutely loved it and will get it again. We moved to a new build and just took the free laminate option but will be getting it in the next few years and want to also get the upstands to match.

BarkingMad123 · 05/02/2017 12:01

Forgot to add ours was from B&Q and cost about £5k but that was for a huge amount of worktop and b/fast bar

Titsywoo · 05/02/2017 12:06

We have black quartz with a sparkle. We used a local place that does granite and quartz and they found a piece with the exact amount of sparkle we wanted (not too much!). Just google granite and quartz worktop in your area and you should get options. Don't buy it from the place you buy kitchens from (Magnet etc) as they will charge double the price!

321zerobaby · 05/02/2017 14:56

@Molly333 it was supplied with the kitchen, Brandt Kitchens in Stevenage.

rubybleu · 05/02/2017 15:02

We inherited black sparkly granite effect laminate worktops when we bought our house. It's awful - I really wouldn't recommend it.

OnePlanOnHouzz · 05/02/2017 15:51

Be mindful that if you get a high gloss worktop it will reflect glare from any under cabinet lighting !!
