Carpet fitting question

Just booking in the carpet fitters for our house.

It’s a Victorian terrace and at the moment you walk straight into the front room from the front door.

We may one day put on a porch but that’s for much later down the line.

In the mean time would you carpet the full floorplan and have a separate door mat/dirt trapper on the inside of the front door, or would you get the carpet fitters to install a coir doormat into the door entrance and carpet around that?

I'd have an inset coir mat.

Depends on how far down the line you will be getting a porch? If you wasn't getting one, I'd say inset coir mat but, it might not look right when you get a porch.
