Fitted wardrobes.

I'd be interested to know if anyone has had fitted wardrobes fitted and could give me a cost of what you paid. I had an estimate for floor to ceiling mirrored robes with hanging rail and shelves for £ 1000 and not sure if this is reasonable or not. Thanks

Is £1k for materials and labour? That's very reasonable if so.

bimbobaggins · 22/01/2017 20:43

Thank you ruby. Yes that's to supply and fit. I'm just never that sure about things but good to hear from someone else

Yes, depending on the size, that's cheap.

starsinyourpies · 22/01/2017 20:48

Yes several years ago mine was £1300.

reallyanotherone · 22/01/2017 20:51

Blimey they cost that much? I hate them and have been planning to get them all ripped out of out new house, they're in every sodding room.

bigredboat · 22/01/2017 21:33

We had a quote from a well known bedroom company for fitted wardrobes in the alcoves either side of the fireplace in our bedroom.....£10k! Needless to say we didn't go ahead! So I think £1000 is a pretty good price.

bimbobaggins · 22/01/2017 21:56

Thanks everyone for replying.seems it's a good price after all.

Very reasonable to me

BobbinThreadbare123 · 22/01/2017 22:00

I had some large wardrobes done with a few other bits of bedroom furniture and it cost £5k.

BIWI · 22/01/2017 22:03

Very reasonable!

We're having our jerry-built fitted wardrobes replaced right now. Two double wardrobes and a cupboard housing the central heating boiler (with shelves so that it acts as a warm cupboard, if swim)

Sharps came and gave us a quote for

Fluffyears · 23/01/2017 12:34

I got a double mirrored wardrobe and 4 door fitted wardrobe to two bedrooms and cost £2700 so it would probably break down to similar cost.

Ivanaflump · 23/01/2017 12:35

Very good price, I paid 2.5k for similar sounding.

bimbobaggins · 23/01/2017 15:13

I'm glad I asked now and thanks everyone for replying.

Ten grand, bigredboat ?Shock

littlestar34 · 23/01/2017 15:40

Sounds really good price. Ours were done by Sharps and we paid loads more. I am still recovering from the trauma of dealing with them but that's a different tale!

bimbobaggins · 23/01/2017 16:46

Oh no littlestar that doesn't sound good. I'm still traumatised by working I had in nearly two years ago and it has left me a nervous wreck getting anything done

Floggingmolly I nearly fell off my chair when he said! I pretended to consider it before saying no thank you. We also had Hilary's quote for 2 sets of curtains: £1800!

you have to remember that materials can be different, try using market's leders like Egger, for example metro Wardrobes works eclusively with egger boards, also handles brand Hafele is the one i like, remember it determins how long it will last and the choice of colours, models etc...
