Removing polystyrene tile from ceiling - do I need to strip walls?

So the boys'bedroom still gas polystyrene tile from prev owner (we moved in in 2003). We are getting the ceiling skimmed. Will the removal of tiles mean we need to strip walls too? Walls have paper and I could live with just repainting but DH reckons best to strip walls as otherwise the plaster will obscure top of paper and make future alterations difficult. Opinions? ??

Should say we have plasterer booked and a decorator too as getting front room done but could ask decorator to do boys room too I guess.

Your DH is correct, but, I don't envy your job removing the ceiling tiles.
Good luck.

We've done it before - messy messy! A steamer helps. I hope! Hey Ho will do walls at same time then.
