Composite decking

Anyone have this?
Good and bad points please.
Where will I find someone to fit/lay it?
Can it be used to form a ramp at the end rather than a step?

My parents have had this for years & it's great. My dad saw it at a building trade show when it was a new product & decided to give it a go. It doesn't age, fade, rot & needs no maintenance. My dad built his deck but any joiner, builder or Gardner could do it as it's just the same as wooden decking with the frame underneath. I'm not sure about the ramp but I don't see why you couldn't build a ramp as it's supplied in planks.

My dad bought it years ago & there are more options available & it has improved so I would definitely look into it.

WPC's are easy to cut so yes, you can make a ramp with it.
Because of the plastic in it, it is more expensive than normal decking but, needs less maintenance.
If you know someone who's good at DIY, they can fairly easily fit it.

I've had mine for almost 4 years and it looks as good as the first day. It doesn't get slippy when wet or turn grey & green like all the other decks I've seen. I usually give it a quick wash down with soapy water and a broom in the spring but that's as far as my maintenace goes. Everyone who sees it comments how great it looks and then is shocked when they learn its composite. I believe mine has a 25yr guarantee. The only thing I will say is that it can get very hot under bare feet - I'm not sure if this is an issue with wood decking and my garden is south facing on the south coast so often gets incredibly hot in the summer.

Gobacktosleep. Hope you don't use washing up liquid? It can promote mold. A mild soap and warm water is best 😉

Composite gets hot? I am planning to use Millboard decking instead of the concrete slab patio, partly because the slabs get incredibly hot in summer and radiate heat up into the house where I don't want it. And continue to radiate heat after the sun goes down, making it uncomfortable inside.

I don't want to be hearing that composite decking is like having concrete!

Composite does heat up but, not as hot as stone and doesn't radiate heat like stone.
If you have the money, then, millboard is a lot better.

shortlass it's Millboard composite decking that I have. It does get hot but I've never noticed the heat radiating into the house
