I was wondering whether anyone can tell me what it is like to live there please? We are considering a move up there from the South. We moved from north west Leicestershire a few years ago so I know that side but nothing at all about MH.

DH would be commuting to London most days during the week. We have 2 dc age 6 and 9 so secondary school is also a consideration now. I would like to move somewhere with lots of nice places to take dc to during weekends and school holidays. Where we live now is dire in that regard so this is quite important. Not so much into 'playbarns' so much but nice safe countryside, biking routes, walking etc Would like access to good supermarket and decent shopping (which I know MH provides in the form of Leicester so that's fine.) Like National Trust type places with lots of space for dc to explore and let off steam. Good swimming pool would be great too.

Have £600k to spend on 4/5 bedroom house but that's assuming it's a 'move in' house and not a project. Also hoping for friendly locals. Don't want to live in a dump but don't want to live in a 'snooty' area either iyswim. Where we live now is very pretty but other mums are very cliquey.

I'd really appreciate feedback - positive and negative welcome. Thank you!

Hello,

We are looking into moving to Market Harborough and I wondered if anyone can tell me about their experience of living there ?

We have 2 small children so are looking to move to an area that has good schools and activities for children. We are also looking to find an area that would suit adults, we enjoy eating out, theatre, cinema, shopping etc.

Lastly we are a mixed race family, how diverse is MH ?

Thanks

this link may be a bit old but just having looked at market harborough properties for sale , the houses around the town are expensive in comparison, but the massive elephant in the room that the locals dont like to be questioned on is the horrendous traffic jams! right in the centre of the pretty village two major roads collide with juggernauts etc and theres always jams with cars churning out fumes but the biggest bug is the NOISE! forget a quiet stroll around the pretty shops!
