Help! No heating or hot water! Worcester 28i junior boiler

Hi - no idea if anyone can help...

Cam back home after a couple of days away and the ignition light on the boiler is off (no heating or hot water). The pressure was low so have increased up to 2 bar.

Have tried resetting by pressing the reset/warning switch but no change. Tried to reboot by turning thermostat to off and then back to max ( and tried same by turning hot water tap on) but no change either.

To be honest it's done this before but after few goes/a little while its reboot and the ignition light has come back on and everything fine again.

Nothing seeming to make a difference this time though! Can anyone help!? Freezing! ☹️

This might sound simply but, has the boiler been turned off at the fuse spare or has the fuse blown? Have you got power to your boiler?

Moretyler · 28/12/2016 07:12

He he ...fair point! But yes - has got power. Red wArning light flashing away. When you switch the thermostat from off to a high temp after pressing the reset switch you can hear the whole boiler doing what it usually does (appropriate noises as it kicks in etc)...just no 'woof' noise as the flame kicks in... ☹️

Freezing this morning - hurrah for children's Xmas blankets!! 😳

How old is your boiler and have you tried bleeding your radiators? When bleeding, keep an eye on pressure.

I don't know what the trouble is, but count how many flashes you get, and how fast, the signal can be decoded with the manual, and the colour of the light. For example you might get five blue flashes, pause, five flashes, pause, five flashes.

Very likely it is an electronics fault and no DIY action will fix it.

If you have it serviced annually, start with whoever services it.

Hi. I have the same boiler. The reset button, the one with the little triangle symbol above it, gets stuck in and will not pop out.... Pull the white plastic panel off (it is not connect to anything) that you can see in front of you and press the reset button. It should reset it self and start. Good luck....
