Is anyone else in extension / renovation hell?

We're doing all of downstairs and sticking a kitchen extension on at the same time - we've saved for years and I'm happy that it's now underway but I'm so sick of the mess, the cold, tradesmen letting us down... did I mention the mess??

Anyone else? Or have you finished and want to tell me it's worth it??

Be done by Friday and electrician and plumber coming this week too. Good job really as kitchen coming in two weeks and I want my house back!

Builders sat in van waiting for the temperature to rise so they can get started as sudden cold snap overnight. The idea is that the block and beam floor will be done by end of this week/start of next.

Week after next we start ripping the inside to bits, starting with taking the chimney off. It has rather belatedly occurred to me this might get cold for a night or two whilst there's a hole in the roof. Unless he can sort the exposed to the elements bit in a day.

Just about to start - currently living in a caravan next to the house which is uninhabitable at the moment with 3 DC. Christmas was interesting!! Hoping it will be worth it in the end - somebody tell me it will be!
