Apple electric heaters - experience?

Hello, we live in the middle of nowhere (no gas) and are looking at alternatives to our old storage heaters.

We've had a quote from apple home improvements for their electric heaters and wondered if anyone had any experience of them at all? We'd never heard of them before but they are insistent they're a household name....

are these the magic devices that imply that they can get more than a kilowatt out of a kilowatt?

smoke and mirrors.

your alternatives are oil or LPG.

I haven't been through the numbers yet I'll admit, the basic premise is the increase in efficiency is such that it more than offsets the switch to daytime tariffs.

Now you've said that I'll do some number crunching though.

Never heard of them. Apple might be interested in them if their logo or advertising breaches copyright.

It sounds too good to be true. So it probably is.

Oil is very cheap at the moment.

I wouldn't trust anyone ripping off a major brand; to be honest. It doesn't say a lot for them!

We pulled storage heaters out of a flat recently. We replaced with convector heaters on a timer plug and have had no issues at all. I looked at a similar sounding electric heating system but realised it was just expensive electric heaters on a central time for £5k!

How do they provide increased efficiency? A kilowatt is a kilowatt. Unless someone knows different...

It's like saying you can burn one lump of coal but get the heat of two lumps out of it.

Yes,quite!

I've just googled, they look like new fangled storage heaters-and you already know how shit they are!
