Tiling costs

Just had a quote to tile a 60m2 kitchen/dining room and utility. They have quoted to tile at £32 per sq meter which I can't help thinking is a lot. This is just for floor tiles and includes all grout and cement etc (not sure if they use cement but you know what I mean!). Anyone had any floor tiling done recently who can tell me comparison prices please?

Hi,

What size floor tile are you having installed?

CoryDunford · 02/12/2016 00:32

As a rough guide pricing is normally between £15- £20 per m2 plus VAT for labour only. If they're supplying materials as well this doesnt seem unreasonable for a large area especially if you're using larger format tiles.

Hope this helps

Where are you op? I'm south east and have just been quoted 45 per sqm not including tiles for a 30 sqm kitchen floor.

So excited to have replies!! Tile is 600mm2. But he charges this whatever size of tile apparently. Sounds like the price is about right then. Never imagined the tiles would be cheaper cost than the labour!

I'm a bit worried that he charges the same regardless of format. A 600 tile will require more work than a smaller format tile and therefore is more expensive to fit.

Have you had any other quotes and/or seen his workmanship?

Btw i have a fixing company and retail outlet so have experience pricing jobs!

I've been quoted between £35 and £55 per metre (includes vat, adhesive and grout) for 600mm tiles. Cambridge area. So your quote sounds ok to me. And yes it's less than the tiles per m^2
