Noisy neighbours/ living in a flat

I live in a flat, my downstairs neighbour who is unemployed watching tv loud all day/ night and play music loud. Is there anyway I can soundproof my flat without taking up the floorboards? Has anyone got any experience with living with noisy neighbours and how they cope when trying to sleep at night?

I don't know about soundproofing, sorry, but you could get a white noise machine. I got one off eBay because of the traffic. Or in a pinch you could use a fan. Also, wear earplugs at night. I do that as well.

You could also report them to your landlord for nuisance. You have the right to the quiet enjoyment of your property just like everyone else.
