Sorry for the plan, ive tried to measure as best as I can but its not to scale.

As the title suggests what would you do with this kitchen diner? the lower section where the table and the patio doors are was a garage and has been converted. We have no back access to the house so when the dog is walked and we have dirty feet we come in that way. We miss the storage we had when it was a garage and I'm a little sorry we did it. I'm not sure whether we could put a wall back up (glass blocks to let the light through) and get a new kitchen then that wraps around them to extend the cabinet and work surfaces, considering its a big kitchen I feel we haven't enough work surface.
Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated

OK I think I've got my head around it. You have a dining area where the garage was (with patio doors to the front??) then a big gap, then at the back an L shaped kitchen which is cut off and narrow? And you have to walk your muddy dogs through this? If it was me I'd section off some space to have a utility/bootroom at the door you bring the dogs in(the kitchen door?) Then possibly have a galley style kitchen with worktops running down both walls from where the kitchen window is right to the dining area, keeping the dining table where it is. However if I've read your description/plans wrong none of this would work!

Thanks, the dogs come in through the patio door (the old garage door) by the dining table. I don't think I'd have room to section this off. I was wondering whether to turn this section back into a garage / storage area and build back across where the wall sticks out a bit near the table.

It's such an awkward shaped room. The other thing I did think was to turn the area by the back door (where the kitchen sink is) into a utility room, block up the inner door the goes into the kitchen and knock through where you see the radiator with a jumper on it. This would make a hole into the lounge so I'd have a kitchen diner that way. We have another lounge at the front of the house. This wall is the old external wall of the house though and probably holds floors upstairs up. Not sure if this can be opened up. It would make the kitchen area more square though.

Yes that is the section I was meaning to turn into a utility room. Seems a shame you can't bring the dog in that way though! If there is a second lounge on the left then I'd definitely knock through to that for a square kitchen diner. You would just need the right RSJ to support everything. I personally wouldn't convert the garage back again, how about using it as a study with a huge storage cupboard in?

Yes, there is a lounge on the left, I wasn't sure if that wall could come down but it is the only way I could have a squarer kitchen. Will have to look into it. Thanks.

Have you thought about getting an architect to look at it for ideas?

No, not at the moment. I was hoping to think all the options through first. I do think that will have to be the best option as I'm not good at using my imagination.
