Radiator pipes

Just had downstairs decorated, looks fab....apart from the radiators. Theyre normal panel radiators, the pipes(?) come out of the floor (not wall unfortunately) and I had them painted too, but against the wood skirtings they look awful. Cant have covers to hide entire radiator, any ideas for hiding or covering just the pipes?
