Loud grinding noise using hot tap

I get a loud grinding noise sometimes when using the hot tap in the kitchen. When it's making the noise, the water comes through in pulses.

It only happens when the tap is turned on a little. If I turn the tap on more, it stops.

I've tried running the tap on full for a while (in case there was trapped air in the pipe), but that doesn't solve it.

I don't get the issue when using the bathroom tap.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

worn out or loose spindle, jumper or washer.

If you know how to change a washer (or cartridge) you can do it yourself.

With ordinary taps, the cause is usually people screwing down the tap with great force.
