Any electrician about that can put my mind at rest?

Hi, we have had an electrical safety check on a property we are buying, hoping to complete next week. It has come back saying there is 'no cpc to some lighting' but that other areas are ok. I've tried to call the electrician who did the survey but he's not available so wondered if anyone could help please?
My questions- is this a massive expensive job (large 4 bed 1950's house), will we need to rewire? Is it dangerous? (survey deemed it unsatisfactory, due to this one issue, all other parts satisfactory)
I'm so stressed I could cry, we were hoping to exchange this week and provided it's not a hugely expensive job we won't bother knocking money off our offer, but we just want to know what we're dealing with

Which doesn't sound like it's a major problem as long as you for the correct light fitting if you want to change them.

Dh said if there's an rcd and there are no metal light fitting or switches then t can be passed.

But circuits without earth are generally quite old anyway. If you were going to get something altered it would be worth re wiring

He also said lots and lots of houses don't have earth and would never ever know. Our old flat didn't and this house probably doesn't.

Thanks giddy and curly - so it could be the fact that there's metal light fittings that is the issue then? There are definitely metal wall lights in some areas of the house.

Yes that's true - metal fittings. He said your welcome

It's no problem at all, basically means you can only have non metal light fittings and no metal switches or back boxes on the lighting circuit.
It does say something about the age of the installation, but it's more of an advisory. He would have tested the wiring anyway so that should be fine.
Don't let it put you off the house.
Lighting is usually much easier to rewire then sockets if you want to use metal fittings in future, as the lights are usually in ceilings which are hollow, and less often in walls.
