Right move search for previous listings/sales

apparently it's possible to look at previous ads for a currently listed house, like if it sold last year or in 2011, I could find the previous pictures of previous listing, & the actual sale price.

Er, how does one do that? I tried googling, but I probably don't know the right search phrases. Thx IA.

Look at sold prices for properties and if it's a clicky link you can get to previous details.
Might be on zoopla not right move though...

Google 'rightmove sold house prices' that has details of the price the house sold at along with the listing at the time including pictures, floorplan etc

Go on right move then click on sold prices, you will need to type in the street name and it will show you all the houses on the street and what they previously sold for. Sometimes with previous listing pictures.

I have been using it to look at all the pictures for houses that have been sold in the street we are moving to get decorating ideas and to see what our new house could look like if we modernised it

somehow on rightmove it's possible to see old listings, I think, not just the past prices for same properties. I don't know if folk are just peering hard at pictures to match old listings to current ones, or if there's an easier way.

With mine I tHinksey we looked up the current value of our house (by searching for the street and then clicking on the house number). Then we did "claim this house" so you can adjust values like what work you have done on the house. This was when we got access to property history (I think). It has details of sale from when we bought and previous sale in 1992. It has photos from when we bought it, sometimes we just look at them and laugh at how awful it was!

ta... Xposts. I can see pics from most recent listing but not from listings b4 that... how far back do listings go? Someone said 1992 but I only find pics from most recent listing.... irk.

As far as I know you can only see pics from the most recent listing, but the old pics would have possibly been on there until the property was delisted.

It is possible to see old 'faded out' rightmove listings of houses. It happens when you go to the URL of the original (expired) listing. However, there is no way on Rightmove that you can search for/find those old listings. The only way you come across them is if you are searching for (e.g.Wisteria Cottage, Anytown, or 123 Anyroad Street, AB12 CD3) on Google and the expired rightmove listing happens to appear in the search results. So you sometimes get lucky. You also sometimes also find an (expired) PDF of the Estate Agent's details that way.

I've done lots of house research and snooping that way!

So basically every Rightmove listing creates a unique URL (using the property number) which is never deleted, is just 'faded out' when it expires, so depending on how well the Google spiders have done their indexing, you might be able to locate it through judicious use of search terms (and scrolling through lots of results!)

My dsis found it quite upsetting to see pics of our old family home and how they had changed it.
I looked and got some satisfaction from seeing it all modernised and done up.
It sold twice within 5 years and both sets of photos were on the listing.
Looked for our previous house and didn't even get the listing and price paid, let alone any pics.
it's as though somebody demolished it.

Rightmove will tell you when it was listed, any price reductions, last sold and for how much. I think zoopla gives slightly different info.

You can do it on zoopla.

If you look at sold prices on Rightmove, I've seen previous old listings but generally only when the property is up for sale again, for some reason.

The owner of one place we looked at was claiming he had done loads of improvements to the property (so that justified to 100k price hike in 18 months , but when I looked it up on RL it was clear that it was exactly the same as when they had bought it.
