How warm does your Aga make your home?

We're in the middle of planning our new kitchen and have decided to go for a dual control three-oven Aga Smile. It's not a very big room (about 4.5m x 3m), with one door and two windows.

My DH is all for removing the radiator that's currently there, to give us more wall space/furniture options. I'm not so sure… will we be cold or toasty I'm always cold?

TIA Flowers

Hooray, more reassurance as if I needed it that an Aga is essential for my health and happiness Grin

In the interests of research would any of you be willing to post a picture of your Aga? Flowers

I got my dreamed of aga 16 years ago and have never regretted it. It came with us when we moved house 5 years ago - never gets turned off except for servicing every year. We do have radiators in the kitchen but i dont think they come on very often because of the aga. You could put down underfloor heating if you are laying new floors - others tell me how efficient it is and that they only need to put it on for a short time in the mornings.

Oohh lovely thread! Our first Aga is being delivered end of Nov and I'm so excited! We have a radiator in the room too (it's 5m x 6m and north facing) so will see how we get on... I think in a room your size OP you won't need it, my parents had one in a kitchen about that size and it was always toasty!

Beachy I LOVE your red one, we're having black as we have red quarry tiles but I would have loved a bright red Aga.

Beachys, bilbo and Slice thank you all!

Slice: what sort of Aga are you having? Size? Fuel etc? Please update so I can enjoy your new Aga vicariously as mine won't be arriving until spring at the earliest Smile

Vicarious Aga love Grin it's a black gas fuel traditional one (I'm worrying now we should have gone for dual control but I've only ever used a traditional one so sticking with what I know). We ordered 2 ovens initially but then changed to 3 ovens after a last minute "why the hell not" moment when something else on our kitchen extension came in under budget never mind that everything else is over We've now had a 2 week delay on the building due to some unexpected stuff and I might have to reschedule the Aga. Argh! It MUST be done by Christmas!

I'll take a pic of mine later. I used to have a British Racing Green two oven, i grew up with a cream two oven and when we moved house we bought a new 3 oven in the one that isn't quite black (can't remember the name). (Not quite enough room for a 4 oven ) Not sure in hindsight that the three oven is worth the extra money.
