Loft conversion companies in the South East

I am currently getting quotes for an L-shaped dormer loft conversion (to a little 2 bed 1 bath terrace, turning it into a 4 bed 2 bath) in West Berkshire and wondered if anyone can recommend any loft conversion specialists in the South East (or warn me off any of them!). I've had two quotes so far - Charles Grosvenor and Loftplan who have both said around £45k + VAT Shock. What I've read on here tells me that that's a bit high considering this isn't London but if they're both saying the same thing perhaps that's the going rate now.

I'll just leave these here for anyone who wants to share their experience:CakeCakeCakeChocolateChocolateChocolateWineWineWine Grin

If you're definitely going for it you can get more accurate prices by getting proper drawings for them to quote. That'll cost you though.
Other than that you're doing the right thing. We got 5 quotes, 2 were noticeably more expensive, 2 were about the same, and one was cheaper but didn't include everything. We went with the second one. Good luck!

Thanks John, you've made me feel better about getting more than 3 quotes. Grin

Regarding the drawings, both companies offer a design and build service and have produced an initial drawing for us to sit alongside the quote. Are you saying we would nevertheless be better off getting our own drawings?

Could I ask who you used in the end? Do you remember which companies were more/less expensive. I'm wondering whether to get Econoloft to quote.

Hi,I'm in SE London. Had 4 quotes in the last couple of weeks. Slightly different loft to what you're having,we are mid terrace and doing a dorma with one bed and an ensuite. Prices have ranged from £43k to £36k.
Econoloft and South London Lofts came out the cheapest,I have friends that have used both of these companies and been happy, although it sounds like it depends which team you get. It's a minefield!
