PAX wardrobes question (sorry!)

Anyone ever tried to disassemble a PAX wardrobe?

I really need a decent wardrobe and I 'm looking at a PAX setup that's 2 double units (200 cm wide altogether), 2m tall.

The problem is that I will probably be moving next year, and I would very much like to take the wardrobe with me. However, because of the design of my hallway, I doubt that something that size could actually be removed from the bedroom. Is it possible to take apart the 2 100cm units, or are they bolted together in such a way that this would damage them?

Ours have moved 3 times, including internationally. Tbh you are best not dismantling the carcass, just removing the doors.

Ours have also moved 3 times including overseas. I think they just took the doors off and left the carcasses intact. They're a bit wobbly now tbh.

I would not contemplate separating the carcasses if there was any way of getting them out of the bedroom in one piece. Its a narrow hall & I really can't visualise how something of that size could be manoeuvered through the doorway and turned through 90 degrees. Hallway is 96cm wide. It was hard enough getting the old wardrobe about 123cm wide in there.

(sigh) I think I will have to postpone this until I move.

Not sure about these specific ones, but with flat pack furniture the important thing is to keep the instructions so you can follow them in reverse to dismantle without damage. same goes for the packaging, keep it in good condition with photos of how it went in.
If there's a little damage after moving and you don't plan to move them again, you can use wood glue to make them stronger.

Could you go with 4 x 50cm units rather than 2 x 100cm? That would make them easier to move plus more robust? In any case screws are provided to screw units together.

We don't have Pax, but we did have 3 door Ikea wardrobes that we took apart as they would not have made it through the door then the sharp turn that would be needed in the hall. They went together again fine, but we had been very strict about bagging screws etc, and printed off the assembly instructions. if Pax use similar screws/fixings then it should be ok. Give yourself plenty time to do it though.
