Seller's Solicitor - advice needed!!

I'm buying my first flat from a housing association. I've been ready to go exchange for weeks now, but my solicitor can't get the final necessary docs from the HA's solicitor.

Is there anything I can do to hurry it along?

I'm with my parents at the moment and if I don't move out soon I'm going to scream/lose my mind. They're lovely, and I know I'm very lucky to be able to stay with them, but I just want to live somewhere they aren't! The flat is empty, and has been for months.

We had problems when we had a local authority as our freeholder. I found that (a) going into the offices and collaring someone so I could plead my case helped in one instance (b) speaking to someone in another department who would be able to exert pressure also helped. If you could speak to someone who is in charge of housing targets and point out that this flat is empty when it could be accommodating someone, then that would be useful. If it is a small HA, just go straight to the top and explain what is going on.
