Gloss tiles....would you?

Just in the process of 'doing-up' our new house and my husband is adamant that we have gloss porcelain tiles throughout the hallway, kitchen, sun room and play area. I on the other hand am not entirely convinced re. safety and general upkeep (we have two young, very active boys).

Any of you that have them, please can you give me the pros and cons.

Thank you in advance Smile

They show every mark going. My friend had them in a big area and ended up mopping the whole lot every day and also had to sort various marks during the day. Never again she said!

Also flipping freezing!

No way on the floor they are slippy as hell.

We laid them at our previous house in the kitchen/diner extension. Will definitely not be having them at our new house. They looked great when clean, but that literally lasted for about 30 minutes before they needed mopping again. Also quite hard to prevent smears.

And yes, freezing under foot if underfloor heating not on, and even if it was they never felt particularly welcoming or cosy.

we've had our porcelain gloss floor for around 5 weeks now - no pets but 3 kids and currently lots of visitors, its not as high maintenance as i thought, pretty easy to keep clean as long as no one walks around in outdoor shoes or barefoot - socks/slippers are fine ..
