Hi!!

We're planning a kitchen extension. This will give us lovely light kitchen diner, south facing with big windows and doors and our ceilings are really high - 2.9 meters. We're having a wooden kitchen which will be hand painted. The question is why shade of grey!!

The lighter one.

Our kitchen layout is similar to your first picture - without the side wall. So we have a run of units along the back wall (including tall units, no wall units though to the right of that), and a large island in front of it. We're about 2 weeks from delivery of ours - we are having 'soft grey' for the wall run of units and 'charcoal' for the island! Will let you know what its like once its delivered!!

Similar to this - colour scheme not design of kitchen

Sorry pressed button too soon. Was going to add that if you look at the darker picture where there is a lack of light in the room, the darker units are draining what is left. Even if you are south facing if there is not a lot of natural light this could still happen.

Name changed today - we have similar but a soft white for some and charcoal for the island

Pics below. (i know they out me if anyone I know is on here!)

Oooh HereIam we need a mumsnet smiley for house envy! Your kitchen is lovely! If mine turns out half as beautiful as yours, I will be over the moon!

What colour do you have on the walls (she says - nosey parker - sorry!). Very similar set up to you!

MrsDarcy4092 · 06/09/2016 13:12

Oh I love that!! Our design is an l shape of base units and one wall of tall units. So maybe the base in charcoal and the wall in pale grey.

Thank you for sharing your lovely kitchen!

Good luck with yours namechangedtoday

The walls I had colour matched by Dulux.

The expensive version is Neptune Shingle but it was colour matched to Dulux hourglass. It is a very soft warm grey if that makes sense.

HereIAm20 · 06/09/2016 14:27

Oh and the other end (the dining end) is in good old MN favourite Dulux Timeless

MrsDarcy4092 · 06/09/2016 15:41

Is it a Neptune kitchen? They look like Neptune handles (how sad that I can spot that lol)

Wow Here that kitchen is gorgeous. Can I ask where from?

HereIAm20 · 08/09/2016 17:38

Actually no it isn't a Neptune one although I was "inspired" by Neptune.

We got it from a local independent (Cambridge Kitchens and Bathrooms) and Erika the designer there actually sourced 3 handles similar to those they use on the Neptune Limehouse for me to choose from despite them already having over 200 handles I could have chosen from!

HereIAm20 · 08/09/2016 17:39

The lights over the island are from Neptune though!

Rainbow728 · 15/09/2016 17:27

HereIAm20 Beautiful kitchen! Would you mind me asking what worktops you have on the island. We are condsidering Silestone In White/greys but can't decide which to choose.

Mrsmaudwatts · 04/06/2017 19:13

@ hereiam20 I love your kitchen! How much space do you have between your units and island? I'm booked in to see Cambridge Kitchens next week!
