Redesigning layout ideas

We're hoping to move soon and have seen a house at a great price in the area we'd like - however the layout would need a bit of a move around. Currently there's a very long thin kitchen which we'd want to make bigger - maybe knocking through to the dining room? And would hope to be able to concert the loft. Any thoughts/ideas on what we could do would be great!

Looking at the plan, do you mean knocking through to the current living room? I'd look at doing that and maybe open up the dining room to the living room but with doors so you can separate the space if needed.

I would move all the kitchen units over to the left wall, take down the wall between the kitchen and living room and continue the worktop round from the sink to make a breakfast bar.

put the dining table plus a small seating area in the open plan kitchen and then keep what was the dining room seperate or as above seperate with doors (sliding pocket doors?)
