Shower screen in eaves / slopes ceiling

We're installing a shower room in our attic conversion. I've seen various companies online who provide bespoke shower screens to make the most of the eaves but as you'd expect, no prices.

Has anyone put one in and got an idea of price range or a recommendation?

We got a shower screen from Matki, not sloping so may not be massively helpful to you. But I think it was somewhere around 1k. Very very good quality tho, but if the space is tight you need to check it will fit up the stairs accounting for any turns/ dropped ceiling heights.

If you have a local glass merchants, they may be able to do something for you? But then I guess you would need to buy the fixings separately. Still, it might work out cheaper than getting Matki or similar.

Do you have an architect? They can often recommend suppliers for awkward things.

Our local glass door supplier did ours. Suitable hinges and handles are widely available and were supplied by them. No problem at all.

Am i underestimating the job? I hadn't even considered an architect.

Oooh no, I misread, ignore me. I thought you were doing a loft conversion of which the fitting of the bathroom was a part.

If you're knocking down a wall then you might need the opinion of a structural engineer though.

I've got one. Had to be bespoke. It's a glass panel on one side and a hinged door on the other to make the most of the space. There's a partition wall then a cupboard on the other side (the low bit). Can't remember how much the glass was but full bathroom refit, including all fixtures, shower, part tiling and building wall (including cabinet fittings for sink and toilet) was about 6k so the shower couldn't have been that expensive

You need to be v v careful with measurements though!

I've had one done via the glass department of our local builders merchant. It is a glass panel on one side, hinged door with slanted top (to fit under sloping roof), from memory was £1,300 including fitting, handles, seals etc. It looks great, very minimalistic, easy clean glass, the most difficult part was getting it up the spiral staircase then through a low door under a beam and up some more steps.

The online quotes I had were slightly less, but for not such thick glass and because I knew the measurements had to be exact and I had queries about how best to fit it, I wanted someone who would come out and measure for me, on site, and fit it (rather than getting my builder to fit it) so that if anything went wrong, the responsibility would lie with them.

Yes it's expensive - £1k is about right fitted in 10mm glass or if you're handy then you can do it yourself for about £600 by ordering from somewhere like www.mirrorsandglass.co.uk (there are others)
