Moving day tomorrow.... haven't exchanged yet! Argh!!

As per thread title, solicitors are dragging their heels, still asking questions which could have easily been asked and sorted out last month.
Our solicitor is hoping we can exchange today, I am in limbo, have booked packing service for today, so sat here with nothing packed yet, not sure if it's going to happen now.
Stress is not the word....

My solicitor at the time told me to not book anything/hand in notice on my rental before exchange. I did anyway, and all went super smoothly

Gosh, my feeling would be to never book anything until you've exchanged You've got steelier nerves than me!! Did you end up exchanging today?

Had a very similar issue 2 years ago.
Agreed moving date with our purchaser. The people we were buying from vacated the week previously so no issues.

No queries from solicitor but she kept losing documents or saying she'd not received stuff which we had logged as sent and had proof of delivery.
Booked packing service and removal van.
Spent the whole morning of move day chasing her company to find out that she had buggered off on holiday for a fortnight and hadn't advised the person covering for her that we were due to exchange/move that day.

I was going to send a heavily worded complaint suggesting that the company didn't give such cases to juniors, then found out she was a senior partner.

Hope you get your issues resolved. Usually exchange & completion are on Fridays and it's all a hectic rush.

Why on earth did you agree to exchange and complete on the same day?
