Paint - is there a modern alternative to magnolia?

We've got to paint hallways landings and stairs in a neutral colour and one that won't darken the area any more than it is.
Any suggestions as to what light, non-offensive, ideally on-trend colours I should look at?

Yes- antique white.

plimsolls · 20/06/2016 18:16

Dulux Clouded Pearl? It's a pale blue/grey white.

And isn't there a Timeless White that's popular on here? I haven't seen it in real life though.

Dulex timeless white. One coat. Boom.

Did my whole house in timeless white ready for sale and it looked lovely.

Polished pebble by dulux. Lovely pale grey

I thought everything was F&B elephant breath nowadays? Or have the times moved on... Or greige ?

Finbar · 20/06/2016 21:16

this is great - thanks. The Dulux site is rather good too. ALthough the whites all look very yellow.

Another vote for Dulux Timeless

Ilikedogs · 20/06/2016 21:37

We have Dulux Egyptian cotton (very light grey) in the hallways and Dulux timeless in our front room. Both are good neutrals.

IntelligentPutty · 20/06/2016 21:50

Second Egyptian cotton.. It's beautiful and light but not a hint of the ghastly yellowy magnolia

JillyTheDependableBoot · 20/06/2016 23:50

Dulux Almond White is lovely. Warm but not yellow at all. But it is a very neutral neutral - in my own home unless it was very light I'd want something a bit cooler.

Ruhrpott · 21/06/2016 00:16

We have natural hessian, looks great. Not as yellow as magnolia

morningtoncrescent62 · 23/06/2016 10:39

I have deluxe Rocksalt - lovely very pale grey.

CremeDeSudo · 23/06/2016 11:21

Hate Magnolia. We're buying a new build soon and they're painting Magnolia throughout. I'd prefer white!

I like Natural Calico as a neutral shade. Lighter than Magnolia but less yellowy.

Donatellalymanmoss · 23/06/2016 17:22

Jasmine white would be good for a dark space.

Donatellalymanmoss · 23/06/2016 17:23

creme why don't you ask them to do a different colour?

CremeDeSudo · 23/06/2016 20:23

We'd have to pay extra. Its 75 a room for white! Already paying out enough so it'll have to wait for now sadly..

Donatellalymanmoss · 23/06/2016 20:26

Could you buy them the paint? £75 extra a room is ridiculous!!

CremeDeSudo · 23/06/2016 20:45

Maybe I'll ask...good idea Wink

ChishandFips33 · 23/06/2016 22:07

Timeless here...or natural calico

MargotsDevil · 23/06/2016 23:29

B and Q Cotton Flower may be a replacement for Cotton White? I love it. DuluxTimeless was far too yellow for me.
