Rough cost of door and frame installation.

Hello

Our back door is due for replacement. I'd like to replace it with a stable type door.

As a rough estimate, what are the time/labour costs of doing such a thing, fitting a sash lock in the bottom door and a mortice lock in the top one? I know if you pay peanuts you get monkeys, but I don't want to get ripped off either.

This may not be much help, but I've been quoted £1,600 +vat to build a frame and install a front door and sidelight. This includes an allowance of only £500 for the actual door and door furniture.

It's a lot, but it was the cheapest quote we had by £1000. It's from a well respected joiner who usually makes bespoke doors, but to save costs for us is going to install a pre-bought one.
