New to this lark but think it's 10%.

10% plus VAT

SauvignonPlonker · 13/06/2016 22:32

10% inclusive of VAT

AgathaF · 14/06/2016 08:38

7%. Should have been 10% but we haggled.

Roystonv · 14/06/2016 08:44

Really, haggling over how much to pay someone whom you have entrusted to manage a valuable investment.

Needmoresleep · 14/06/2016 09:03

OP, is it a short or holiday let? In which case the fee you suggest would not be unusual for a top end agents. Foxtons is 26%+VAT, and 17%+VAT for a long let.

Royston, renting property is a business. If you pay full whack for everything and don't haggle, you would never make any money. In my experience, paying more does not always lead to a better service.

EssentialHummus · 14/06/2016 09:16

9.6% incl. VAT.

As PP said, it's a business. In my neck of the woods, it's also a business where there is a lot of demand and limited supply, so agents let me know upfront that they could negotiate.

AgathaF · 14/06/2016 09:43

Roystonv - they could have said no!
