How to best use space around chimney breast - pics attached

Hello! We are in the midst of doing up our new home and I need help with the space around the chimney breast. One side is smaller and the other that goes up to the window is longer (with a beam on the ceiling) I would like to use the space foe some closed cupboards at the bottom (fireplace level) and probably open shelves on the top... for a bookcase.

All suggestions are welcome! Also, where can I get it from? Custome made maybe too expensive. Ikea?

TIA :)

IKEA Billy bookshelves with doors on the bottom halves? Because the two sides aren't even and you have the beam and window on one side, I think that could work.

I had a billy in my alcove space in my last house and it looked fab.

Billy is the way to go ! Thanks for the recommendation :)

Would you recommend that I get ones that go beyond the beam and right up to the window? I really don't want to block the window but at the same time I don't know how it would look if it ended just before the beam Confused

No. I think it will block light and annoy you. How about a lower one for that space instead, with doors, it one will fit?

We have floating shelves and a piano in one and the TV in our other. We have no fireplace though, so it's not too busy if that makes sense. Floating shelves can be done to size of you only want a couple of shelves.

I wouldn't go right to the window with the Billy either.

Where will you put the TV?

I'd put bookshelf in the narrow one, all the way up and a chair pushed into corner and footstool and small side table on the other side.

Is that not an original fireplace place and chimney off to left? Confused Looks like the blue chimney breast and 'fire' are 'fakes' ConfusedConfused

Yeah I wouldn't go to the window. Either have the TV there or a low thing with some nice plants on top.
