Arrgghhh! My beautiful parquet floor :(

Was in the bath and DS shouted that there was water pouring out of the bathroom door. Turned out the waste pipe broke off as it was secured with insulation tape (damn previous owners!) and the water started coming out under the bath. Our hallway is parquet which we restored beautifully 2 years ago. I don't know how long the water was sitting on it but it was probably 10 mins and it spread down the whole length. Luckily we live in a bungalow so limited damage but it looks like it will swell and lift. So gutted :(

You could get one piece of the parquet cut out to allow the rest to expand without lifting as it will have room to do so.

If you get a flooring restorer in quickly and cut a piece out with. Wait for it all to fully dry (allow minimum 2 weeks pref longer for any subfloor to dry too) and then see where you are

The piece can then be replaced and hopefully lots of damage averted
Two houses with parquet and various incidents involving water damage and spills.
