IKEA PAX wardrobes

Once assembled, can you still add bits, such as shelves if you want to? Or are you stuck with what you chose?

We've just got two doubles. For my side, I opted for drawers on one side and nothing on the other side to allow for dresses, but now I've seen how tall it is I think I might fancy some shelves.

You can add and change as you like, we have them and they are great, I fancy a trouser hanger, DH has one on his side and I think it would work for me too. I seem to have wasted space at the bottom.

You can add bits but it can mean taking the wardrobes apart again to fit the new pieces in and we've found that they're often not quite the same once you put them back together but that could just be our poor DIY skills!

I've evolved ours and never needed to remove doors or adjust the outer structure.

I started with two drawers and went to three. Reduced the long hanging space. Added high shelves above the rail for boxed stuff using the white boxes designed to fit the wardrobes.

DH added a trouser hanger and more shelves to his side.

I have added shelves and drawers once fully built. The only thing you might have to remove would be doors but that is easy and I think unlikely anyway.

Thanks everyone. I fancy the jewellery drawer and maybe a couple of shelves as I won't need the majority of the long hanging space. I fancy adding lights too. I can't believe how much you get for your money.

That is precisely why we have them. When we priced anything else up, there was no contest.

I fancy changing the doors. Interior is great but the doors dont look as good as i had visioned. Got the white panels mixes with mirrored panels but not sure how to visualise the other doors so dont want to make the same mistake again.

We got some for our daughter from Gumtree at less than half the new price, then just added the bits to make them work for us. They're fabulous.
