mid-sleeper bed for older child (but not high sleeper!)

I am trying to find a mid-height bed for DD (8). She is desperate for a bed where she can create a 'den' underneath, but at 8 she is too big for the mid-sleepers which only have 75-80cm under the bed.
Has anyone found anything with a slightly bigger space? I don't want to go as high as the massively high sleepers which are 175+cm tall.
I found this mid-height sleeper but for DD's room we need the ladder on the left.
Have been trawling the web but am coming to the conclusion I am going to have to get her bunks and she can use bottom bunk as a den - have tried to sell her this option as good for potential sleepovers but she has no interest in this and wants the den to be a private space fussy madam but I can see that I could make it a cosy corner with throws/cushions etc.

What about the IKEA kura bed? No personal experience. But I've seen it mentioned on here

And they have proper steps. You can have a bunk or a playhouse underneath

You could buy a wooden high sleeper / loft bed (from somewhere like IKEA) and have a carpenter (or a handy H) reduce the height slightly?

Crests scallywag do a high sleeper with 120cm under the bed, is that too high?

Thanks TinyTear I've had a look but the very top of the beds is only 1200mm so I would guess the under-bed clearance is only 80cm - I was looking for a bit more really as DD is already over 125cm tall.
Same with the IKEA Kura Blownin - the top height is less than 116cm so there's just a small space underneath ...

We have IKEA kura. My 7 yo daughter loves it. She is a Den builder. I made curtains to go in the gap under using a shower pole. It also has her old cot bed mattress on the floor so it can be used for sleepovers.

namechanged yes I've been thinking that's the best option ... just annoying as I would like it sorted as we have sold her old bed on eBay a gorgeous single bed that I wish she was still happy with literally out from under her so she will be on a mattress on the floor for a couple of nights until I can find something that works!

There is the option to use a bunk and convert it into a high-sleeper.

We have applied to the Family Fund for a high sleeper bed for DD1. This means we can put their beds back together as bunks in DD2's room and we plan on using this idea to convert it to a high sleeper for her.

My DD is 125cm but al lot of her friends are more than 10cm taller than her and they all play in it.shout if u want me to measure up. We also blackboard painted an end inside and put some shelves in too

My DS has this one from m&s. The bits of furniture underneath are freestanding so we've taken them out and have them elsewhere in his room. This gives him a great 'den' space underneath. He's got a beanbag under there and we've stuck those led stick on lights on the underside of the bed so it's cosy for him to read there. He's 11 now and it's still big enough for him to go under even though it's a similar height to the IKEA one. Obviously he can't stand up under there though!

Ok, am watching a couple of Kura beds on eBay ... I'm thinking the height underneath is only about 80cm but I quite like the accessories you can get for them like the curtains and pockets etc.

It's 85 cm. These are the shelves.
What I liked most apart from the price is that it doesn't take up so much of the room and I can still reach her for a kiss goodnight in bed! It's also easy for us to climb up to read to her without knocking ourselves out on the ceiling!!

Just won a Kura on eBay for £30 with curtain that turns it into a den!

WingMirror - I have looked at that bed online for my dd but was concerned that the desk bit doesn't appear to have space for you to sit with your knees under it - is that the case? Does that make sense?

Hi Petit, yes it does have a knee hole. It's worth double checking though as we bought it about 4 years ago so the design may have changed. It doesn't look as if it has changed in the pics though.

Stompa mid sleepers,
are they robust, for me to go up the steps if need to or are they too much money for what they are

For anyone else who might be looking, FLEXA make a semi high sleeper, which is part way between a mid sleeper and a high sleeper.

We have a FLEXA currently as a standard bed. We have the high conversion kit but I'm hoping to pick up a mid kit on eBay.
