WWYD about height of upstand?

We are having a laminate upstand fitted around our U shape kitchen to match our worktops.

The problem is our window sill sits very low and there is only a 6cm space from windowsill to worktop. So the options are to run the upstand all the way round 3 walls at 6cm or run the upstand round at full height (12cm) and have it lowered to 6cm under the window sill only.

WWYD? Which do you think would look better/be more practical?
