How do you clean your engineered floor?

Just had a very pale Kahrs engineered wood floor installed in the kitchen. It looks lovely but is surrounded by big windows and you can see footprints/scuffs across it as it hasn't been cleaned since it was installed a few days ago. The installer warned against letting much water get on it so i'm paranoid about mopping. Any tips? I do think it needs a bit of a clean beyond sweeping which i've already done, just to get the muck from installation off. Thanks.

I use method wood floor cleaner. Just squirt it straight on the flood then mop with a flat microfiber mop. I usually dilute the Method although it suggests you don't have to but I find it works just as well. The floor never gets very wet and you can spot mop quite quickly. The rooms smells of almonds after too!

We have an engineered oak floor down for 14 years. I've just mopped it in the past but tried not to get it too wet or do it too often. now I generally steam it, but again not too often. It's fine. The only damage is a bit of sun bleaching by the french doors and there are a fair few stiletto heel dings by the sink caused by previous occupants (they were in the house a year and did more damage than we've managed in the last 13!). We have it through the hall, living room, kitchen and dining room.

I sweep mine every few days, steam mop maybe every 10. Just damp cloth any mucky patches in-between.

Im such a slattern. I fill a spray with a mix of dettol and warm water and spray then mop with a microfiber mop maybe once a fortnight

Thanks. I'm so anxious about damaging it i'll wet a mop and then squeeze it out a 100 times before touching the floor!

Damp microfibre mop.

I second a damp microfibre mop. I rinse the cloth in warm water - no chemicals.

It depends massively on the finish.

If it's oiled, you need special stuff by Woca.

If it's not, then another rec for Method wood cleaner!

Method wood cleaner thirded! Smells lovely and gives a nice sheen. Not too much effort required either...
