Partitioning rooms

Hi - has anyone ever partitioned a room (like a lounge diner that's just a bit too long!)

Was it easy, cheap, worth it?!

My FiL built a wall down the middle of the big bedroom when dh and his brother were young, to stop them killing each other Grin

I guess it depends how solid you want it to be - how sound proof, or if you want dividing doors to give you the flexible option. Will also depend if you have enough light in both rooms once blocked off. Cost will vary if you need to put new doorways in too.

Yes we partitioned a huge 'through' bedroom that ran the length of the house and had a window either end. It made 2 decent sized bedrooms.

The builders just put up a wooden frame then attached plasterboard to it. obviously made another doorway as well. Only cost around £500 and it was so worth it as both DS's got a room each and we got sleep!
