Contacting the vendor

I have fallen in love with my dream house, the trouble is I think there's a good possibility others have as well.
We put in an offer today for the asking price, but I'm concerned as property is going above asking price in this area, however I don't want to get stuck in a bidding war. And it's kind of the maximum we really want to spend
I googled the address just to see what came up and I've kind of accidentally got the vendors email address etc.
I'm really tempted to contact them direct, and just let them know how much I love their house but I'm not sure this would be the best idea. I just really don't want to lose this house as it's so beautiful.

I think I'd be more inclined to put a handwritten note through the door telling them how much you love it and want to raise your family there etc rather than email as I would find thst a bit creepy stalkerish!

I'd leave it. You've put in your offer, if lots of other people put in similar offers, it will go to best and finals. Notes through the door makes you look desperate and leaves you vulnerable to the vendor playing you even if there aren't any other buyers on the horizon.

Your right it is a bit stalkerish! It is kinda creepy just how much information you can get just from Google.

You could try and fit in another viewing, and try to "click" with the vender subtly ? I think no to the email (too in your face, you don't know if they are moving because they want to ?) but the letter would be OK. We lost several houses to the other party (usually because they were in rented) so I know what it's like....

So did you view with the EA, vendor not present!

I think presenting yourself as a model buyer to the EA can't harm, be nice to the EA, make yourself easy to reach, have all your info present and correct. People decide on factors beyond price: are the buyers ready to go / part of a chain / time wasters and flaky etc. Are you ready to proceed quickly, if that is what the vendor wants, or else to wait to complete til end of summer term, for example, if that is what they want. Have you got your mortgage and solicitor lined up?

Well really it can't hurt I wouldn't have thought. I was booked in to view a house and it was sold to a couple who knocked on the door having seen it online. The vendor liked them so much she sold it to them without anyone else seeing it
