house veiwing tips

Hi im currently seeing out my notice period on a rented property. They have asked me to do some viewings for them on Wednesday wich i have agreed to. Only issue is the house is upside down due to packing. Ive sorted as much as i can today and will do more tomorrow. How can i make the house more appealing with boxes all over. Any tips to pass on re viewing and things to do/not do. They said if they get someone intrested then we can move earlier.

When I was selling my house I used to make sure bathrooms and kitchen was spotless (even used mr sheen on work tops bath and taps!!) make sure you've had all windows open at least an hour but put heating on after so house isn't cold... Washing ect was out of sight things got chucked in cupboards, no washing up left out! Clean floors and make everything look neat and tidy :) I sold within 9 days both times

I agree kitchens and bathrooms spotless. Try to keep the boxes neatly in one area that is not immediately in the eyes view when entering the room! Difficult in a small space, behind the sofa, under the bed, perhaps.

I'd have thought seeing the tenants were packing up and eager to sell would be a big plus. or should be if the buyers are aware the problems that can arise of buying a tenanted house

that's kind of you - although given the buyers can't exchange until you've physically gone, there's a limit to how much of a difference you can make if the landlords won't let you leave early!

put the boxes in tidy piles, bit of a clean up and that's it really. The place is what it is.

If you were the vendor I'd say fix things, paint things etc but you aren't!

As others had said, makes sure everything is clean and tidy as best as you can, try and get boxes out the way ish by not being on the floor and together in piles rather than all over, ie put put on top of the bed, sofa, one big pile in the corner etc so they can see majority of the floor space and won't have to navigate around them so much, but try not to block restrict light with them.

I think being friendly and helpful is one of the things that really help, then they'll feel able to ask you questions about landlord, area etc and if it has fitted wardrobes show them inside them, open kitchen cupboards/fridge etc.
