A non-ugly solution to the pet bowl problem?

So, I've belatedly realised that my beautiful new minimalist kitchen is going to be marred by the cat bowl sitting near the cat flap in the door out to the garden?

Has anyone managed to find an elegant solution to this problem?

(structural changes, eg to position of door, not an option).

Whatever the bowl, it's still going to be filled with cat food, and that's never a good look.

That said, I've spent a while trying to justify to myself the cost of this Alessi one.

the company of animals one is quite striking but not really minimalist.

Oh wow, where do you find that one that hides away in the kick board??

Can a cat be trained to open that with his nose, I wonder.

Eew to the one in a drawer! Suppose some of the food or water goes down the back? And suppose your cat wants food while your at the counter preparing food? I just can't see that working at all.

I know this may nor be the solution but do you have just a drawer near the floor you could use?

or just something quite beautiful and simple?

The Alessi one isn't the look I'm after, Hassled, but I see it's here on ebay for a lot less money:

I'm assuming your cats aren't messy eaters, OP? I would hate to be chipping the dried cat food off that one every day if I bought it for my two Grin
