I've just bought a house from an Indian family, they have lived in it for six months and it smells of Indian food. I've heard it's very very difficult to get rid of. I thought of washing down the walls with sugar soap and hot water but does anyone else have any other tips until I get round to painting?
THANKS :)

Sugar soap would be a good idea. I'm always amazed (& slightly disgusted ) at the amount of grease that builds up in the kitchen, especially on top of wall units, and the walls above after a couple of years, even with an extractor fan .
