Check both Rightmive and Zoopla and set up alerts so that everytime a suitable home that suits your criteria comes up, you receive an automated email (this is how we found our house).

You should also get on all the local EA books so that everytime they receive an instruction, they get in touch with buyers on their books who are looking for the same house. We viewed houses even before they had taken photos for rightmove/zoopla and this was because the EA knew exactly what we were looking for.

Good luck with the hunting.

It depends where you're looking, Rightmove and Zoopla are not as popular North of the border
