Professional carpet cleaning, would it leak downstairs?

Hey,

I'm thinking of hiring a professional carpet cleaner to clean our carpets. But as our ceiling is not strong, I was worried that water would leak downstairs, into our downstairs living room.

Can anyone reassure me?

From my experience there isn't a lot of actual water sloshing about.

The machines they use kind of recycle the fluid as they go, so it washes & gets sucked up again at the same time.

There is superficial moisture (eg if you kneel on the carpet or walk with socks) but that's all.

& the carpet is v clean afterwards. There were a few permanent stains in ours (god knows what Hmm) but overall the carpet was ^clean*

Thank you!

DS has severe eczema and I believe that all the dirt and dust trapped in the carpet is making his skin worse and our whole house is carpeted! I can't wait to move into a lower ground apartment, I can't stand to have carpets, they are so expensive to maintain.
