New bathroom cost

Small bathroom, want a company to design and fit bathroom, tiles, underfloor heating, bath, shower and sink...a sort of take it back to basics and start again. Can anyone give me ANY idea as to what the costs will be, a ball park even...am in north west uk

We had something similar done except we designed it (with some help from Bathstore who we were looking to use initially, but changed our minds about). Sourced some stuff via plumber and some ourselves. Got tiles at a great price direct from the manufacturer. Flooring from local company, no underfloor heating. I did quite a lot of the decorating work - painted radiator, ceiling and woodwork. Total cost was around £4.5k including paint, light fitting, mirror, safety glass shelves, new towel rail and loo roll holder. Fully tiled bathroom with separate shower and bath in NW. My parents had theirs done by a firm which did everything - smaller room, shower over bath and it cost more.

The quote we got from Bathstore to do the whole thing was £20k - one small bathroom. So we bought it ourselves (better quality named products from local supplier & online) and got a local plumber, tiler & electrician to fit - £7k for a bathroom, shower room & downstairs loo together (I painted).
I think they look better than my friends bathstore bathroom too.
We're in the NE.

I suppose I want someone to come in and redesign layout or suggest stuff etc and worried about finding different decent workmen so the thought of going to a one stop shop is really appealing but budget is about 10k.

Ask around to see if anyone can recommend a bathroom fitting company and go into some showrooms locally. Sounds like you need a local independent. If you tell them your maximum budget they should be able to work to it.

I went to bathstore to get a quote, the 'design specialist' basically replumbed my whole bathroom, including moving the sink and the toilet, then told me I'd have to pay double my budget as a minimum. I'd budgeted 4K, she priced up work I didn't really want (or need) doing and told me 7.5k without flooring...

I contacted a local place who came and measured up properly, then designed what I wanted according to how much I could afford to spend. Once we'd discussed what I wanted as a priority and worked out that there was money left over, then we started fiddling with the fun bits! They are getting my money.

Personally, I'd avoid Bathstore, but I realise that may have been my fault for not being firm enough. I felt totally rough-ridden by the sales woman.

We did a smallish bathroom last year for 5k. Included homebase designer to help, new loo/sink/shower,/cabinet/heated towel rail, new tiles walls and floor, decorating and removal of a wall between old bathroom (which had no loo) and tiny loo next door. Homebase supplied all the stuff and the work was one by one of their contractors. The service was actually better than I thought it would be. You could def do it more cheaply by not needing design ( our room is a wierd shape and we wanted some odd sized stuff) , not removing a wall and finding s builder yourself. we are in the south.

We did our bathroom and downstairs loo last year with a local independent and it cost £11k. An appalling amount but they project managed the whole thing, some new plumbing was required and we chose good quality wall/floor tiles and - most substantially - the sanitary ware was expensive (bath, shower, sink x 2, loo x 2). I didn't want to spend that much but like you, I wanted someone to do the whole thing and to feel as though I could trust them not to fuck about. I didn't have that trust with Bathstore and didn't have any independent plumber recommendations where we could have saved money by buying things direct. It was the right decision but I still wince when I think about how much it cost.

I recently got my bathroom done. It's quite small, maybe 7' X 7', so I took out the bath and put it a quadrant shower. The whole bathroom was gutted and refitted / floor and ceiling tiles.

I bought the stuff myself and got a local building company to fit it. Total cost just over £3.5k. Including a fancy heated floor with touch screen panel.

I got all the fittings from bathempire.com and the tiles from Homebase.

I had previously got a quote from an all in one designer / fitting company and they wanted twice that.

It's really not that hard to plan it yourself, all you need is a tape measure and to be able to fit everything in (if you're keeping the waste pipes in the same place).

An evening should be enough to measure bathroom, put together a quick sketch and pick out fittings online. I then just sent the sketch / measurements / details of the fittings to the builder who had been over to see the bathroom previously.

Ordered the bathroom stuff, stuck it in the garage and then the guys came to fit it and tile.

I know you said you wanted to use an all in one company, but honestly, you'll save yourself literally about half the cost of you do a tiny bit of leg work!

I'm NW England, we have just done our smallish bathroom done by an independent plumber/bathroom fitter. It cost £3,700 for absolutely everything. Separate bath, quadrant shower, fitted furniture with toilet and basin, heated towel rail, completely tiled walls and vinyl floor. He redesigned the layout to squeeze in a desperately needed extra shower which involved moving most of the plumbing. Also fitted a pump for the new shower, fixed several problems with the existing plumbing and laid the new floor in our (tiny) en suite too when he had enough left over of the flooring.
I knew it was a reasonable price but after reading this thread I think I love him!!

If you measure your bathroom and sketch it out you can go into Bathstore or B and Q and take advantage of their free design services to give you ideas.
We did this with our en suite and it was really helpful as a starting point. You need to include everything though ie doors, windows (including height up from floor), existing plumbing. Bathstore quoted me almost three times what we paid for our en suite though and to be honest a lot of their products look nice on a screen but felt a bit flimsy in real life.

we are re doing our bathroom. Its a separate toilet and bathroom so kncoking it all together blocking up one of the doors and ripping everything out and starting again. We paid an architect to design it and give suggestions of what to put in. WE wanted to save money so then we sourced similar items at a much lower cost but could have just bought what she sourced for us. Her charge was £250. We then found a plumber to fit it all for us.

We have sourced high end products. THe materials including tiles has come to £4700 and the fit costs are £5000. We live in London.

We went with bathstore and it was 3k for products and 3k for fitting. In Midlands. We got quotes from other places and they were all more but you didn't get as much.

I'm doing four bathrooms at the moment. I have looked at cheap to expensive and everything in between. My advice would be go to a local company. They will either install for you or recommend a fitter. I found the quality at bathstore, b&q terrible in comparison to the brands my local man stocked plus he could give me good discounts and ended up paying less for better quality.
I think people assume bathstore, topps tiles are cheap but they actually really aren't.

We're currently planning ours with a local independent bathroom company. They've drawn plans up on a computer programme that we can view via an iPad app, both floor plan and 3D. It's not the exact items we're buying (e.g. different vanity unit) but really helpful to see the resulting space. This helped us say yes to a larger shower but keep a standard sized bath.

Original quote was a little under £6k for fittings and installation, including knocking out the adjacent former airing cupboard and combining onto bathroom. We have increased the spec on some things such as taps and the glass on the shower enclosure. Once we finish I expect we'll end up at £9k. We're in West Yorkshire.

I think my bathroom came in at under 1k and that included knocking a wall down between the loo and bathroom, making good the walls and central light fitting, removing old and fitting new suite, moving the over bath shower to a different wall and tiling (which they are coming back to redo because the builders outsourced it and I'm not happy with it). Took about a week but they were doing the kitchen at the same time, they did it quickly so we could move in before christmas and I was heavily pregnant.
We got the suite from Wickes and did the vinyl floor ourselves.

I'm in NW. Realising what a bargain I got compared to some of these.
