Staining wood (IKEA kids storage)

Has anyone successfully stained Trofast storage?

I was thinking of staining what we've got black, rather than buying new.

Will it look pants?

It will be fine. Look at the gel stains by General Finishes. But cheaper black stain should be ok too.
