Didn't really know where to put this thread other than property so apologies if in the wrong place.
I bought my house end of December 2014 and I did it up for a year so never lived there. I told the council I wasn't living there and they gave me 6 months reduced council tax - they said I couldn't have any more than that.
I gave them the address I was currently living at (my parents) for any correspondence.
I honestly cant remember the conversation about whether I told them what date I would be moving in (not that I actually knew myself at that point) so for the past 6 months I have been paying full council tax.
I just received my new council tax bill (sent to my parents house) and I have been given 50% reduction and they have worked out my DD's for the year which will automatically start in may... I have now moved into the house.
So WWYD should I ring them and confess or think its their mistake and say nothing? Is it my responsibility to tell them they are wrong?
