Painting old oak, fastest way to a solid white finish?

So far I've used Ronseal 'One Coat Primer & Undercoat' - twice, on previously unpainted vintage oak drawers. The effect is still blotchy. If I top-coat now it'll take at least 2 coats for a solid finish. Are there any short-cuts to a solid white finish? I have loads more to do.

Try Zinsser BIN primer - the one for bare wood. If it isn't completely unfinished wood whatever you use will need to block the finish, be it wax or oil, etc.
